It is a big step and also a big commitment, but if your heart is sincere now, then believe that heaven rejoices! Christianity is about our personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He is the guarantor of your salvation. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
It is so important that you follow the Lord Jesus. What does that mean?
Know Jesus from the Bible (ideally the 4 Gospels of the New Testament)
Every day spend some time in the Bible, start with the New Testament. The Jesus of the Bible is the same Jesus you have accepted and want to follow. You need to begin to know Him directly and what He said.
Learn to live and act according to God's Word
Jesus has new things for you. God’s purpose for you is to be and live like Jesus. With Him and the power of the Holy Spirit, this is possible. Those who love Jesus follow Him and therefore act according to His Word. Obviously this is a (lifelong) process, He will wonderfully guide you through it all and it will be for His glory!
Talk to Jesus in prayer every day
Prayer is (primarily) a conversation with God. Talk to Jesus, He hears you, give Him all your worries, focus on Him. He is thrilled when we spend time with Him, He really wants it. Also, learn to quiet yourself and listen to His voice and guidance. You will see that you will grow in this.
Have fellowship with people who also follow Jesus
This is really very important! It is on God’s heart that every follower of Jesus should live in the fellowship of brothers and sisters in Christ.
